As an internet marketing coach, I have to determine whether or not someone has what it takes to be a successful client.

You see I’ve coached people in the past who loved to talk about success and how they want to make a ton of money, but when it was time to take action, I would hear every excuse in the book.

I’ve had clients who signed up for coaching and then the next day they literally disappear of the face of the earth (not literally, but they could’ve fooled me)!

I would send out email after email telling the client to schedule our first official coaching session, and I wouldn’t get any kind of response.

After having experiences like the one above, I began qualifying prospects before I work with them.

I’ve literally turned people away who literally had their credit card in hand ready to invest in some form of coaching or done-for-you service (simply because they didn’t qualify).

I look at potential clients like a basketball scout looks at prospects at a summer basketball league.

I look at the person’s stats. I ask them questions such as, why do you want a successful business? Are you an action-taker? What are your goals? What have you done so far to progress towards your goals?

These are questions that need to be answered in order for me to determine whether or not someone will be a good fit for my coaching programs.

The most important thing I need to know is “why” the person wants to work with me.

If you want to make big bucks online, then you need to have a big “why”.

You need to have natural drive or you have to figure out how to get yourself pumped up.

That is why I advise people to find a way to make money doing what you love.

Find a niche that you enjoy.

If you ask me what my why is, I will tell you that I’m not going back to a 9-5 job!

Whenever I feel myself slacking and losing focus in my business, I think about how much I hated being bossed around at a job, and I naturally begin to step my game up.

I have a couple other “why’s” but the important thing is to have at least one “why” that will keep your engine running.

You see when you have a strong reason to take action and go after your goals, then you will smash through any obstacles and get the job done no matter what.

Your goals can’t just be something you want to do, it has to be something you “have” to do.

You need to create a sense of urgency.

Get out of your comfort zone, and start moving towards your goals like your life depends on it (because it does).

Manufacture a situation where you have no choice but to succeed.

Think about the highest paid athletes, actors, and musicians. Why do you think they’re paid more than everybody else?

Because they’re really freakin good at what they do…

And why do you think they’re really freakin good at what they do?

Well, other than talent and skill, the main reason they’re really freaking good at what they do is because they have a really freakin big why!

Some of them are obsessed with being the best.

Some of them just really love what they do.

Some of them love to change lives with their talents and skills.

It doesn’t matter what your why is, the only thing that matters is that your why “works”.

Your why needs to wake you up early and make you stay up later.

Your why needs to fill you with energy and relentless will power.

When I speak to prospects, I look for people who have a big why and really want to be successful.

I want to work with people who refuse to lose.

If you don’t have a strong “why”, then sit down and think about it for a second.

Ask yourself why do you want to make big money online.

Why do you want to be successful?

Why do you want to be rich?

Whatever you want, you must first start by asking yourself why….
